Mathematics (Mathematics and Applied Mathematics/ Information and Computing Science)
At present, there are112 staff members in theCollege of Science, including 12 professors, 33 associate professors, and 59 with doctor's degree and more than 90% with master's degree. The college has 1 provincial-level teaching teacher, 4 academic and technical leaders ofthe Education Department ofHenan Province, 8 young backbone teachers inuniversities and colleges in Henan Province and1 Distinguished Professor at school level.The college has provincial key disciplineswhich are Applied Mathematics and physics, and twomaster degree authorization points which are mathematical theory and technology of complex systems and low dimensional quantum physics and materials.
Thecollege has made outstanding progress in scientific research. It has been undertaking 42 National Natural Science Foundation projects and more than 60 scientific research projects above the provincial and ministerial level, of which more than 10 are KeyScientific andTechnologicalProjects in Henan Province, with scientific research funds of more than 12 million yuan in recent three years. Ithasalsowon two second prizes of Henan Province Science andTechnologyProgressAward, one second prize ofScience andTechnologyProgressAward of China Textile Federation and one Gold Award of United Nations. More than 700 academic papers have been published in domestic and foreign journals; more than 370 papers have been indexed in SCI, EI or ISTP, of which 6 highly cited papers on Essential Science Indicators; more than 50 monographs or textbooks have been edited and published.

Mathematics and Applied Mathematics:
This major is a science major with the concept of strengthening the foundation of mathematics, paying attention to the interdisciplinary, taking mathematics as the main body, and takingappliedmathematics and applied statistics as the direction. Students majored in basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills of mathematics, and participated in basic training in mathematical modeling, computer and mathematical software. The teaching goal of this major is to make students become senior applied talents with mathematical application ability, practical ability and innovation ability. After training, the students of this major can master the professional knowledge of applied mathematics, statistics and other fields, and become excellent talents with high scientific and cultural quality, coordinated development of knowledge, ability and quality.
Information and Computing Science:
This major is based on the information field as the background, mathematics as the main body, data science, operations research and control as the application direction to build a science and engineering cross fusion training system, formed by the cross integration of mathematics and computing, data analysis, information technology and other disciplines. Students will have a solid mathematical foundation, mathematical application ability and computer theoretical basis, master the basic theory, methods and skills of data analysis and computing science, and have strong mathematical application ability, data analysis ability and operation research optimization ability. They should become senior applied talents with coordinated development of knowledge, ability and quality.
This major is an applied science specialty formed by the interdisciplinary integration of physics and optoelectronics, material science, microelectronics and other disciplines. After undergraduate course of professional study and training, students can systematically master the basic theories of mechanics, heat, optics, electromagnetic and atomic and molecular physics, and master the basic knowledge ofoptoelectronics and material science, and have the ability to apply the theoretical knowledge of physics, the ability to practice and develop new technologies, and the corresponding scientific and cultural literacy. After graduation, students can choose to continue to study in applied physics and related disciplines, or have the ability to work in research, teaching, technology development and management in Applied Physics and related fields.
